The Gibraltar Festival for Young Musicians is associated with the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance & Speech, whose patron is Her Majesty The Queen.
We invite individuals, groups and schools to participate in the GIBRALTAR FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS during the days of 18th to 21st of March 2010. The festival takes place at The King's Chapel and The Convent Ballroom. Friday 19th March will be a 'Festival Day' for the school choirs and ensembles, with two non-competitive Albert Hammond shields presented to two schools at the end of the day. On Sunday a piano masterclass takes place at the Convent Ballroom.

Who may enter
Young musicians aged 18 or under, or amateur adult musicians.
Classes: piano, woodwind, string, guitar, brass, vocal and choral.
Also: solo, duet and ensemble classes and jazz.
No set pieces - pieces will be chosen by the entrant/teacher.
Children may enter more than one class provided they play/sing a different piece each time.
The categories of Classes will cover
All children entering the non-competitive classes will receive a festival certificate and all children in year 3 and under will receive a special medal. All children in school choirs will receive a festival certificate.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals and some trophies will be awarded in the competitive classes at the discretion of the adjudicator.
A selection of participants (chosen by the adjudicator) will be invited to perform in the Gala Concert on Saturday 27th March 2010 at the John Mackintosh Hall.
