The Gibraltar Festival for Young Musicians is associated with the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance & Speech, whose patron is Her Majesty The Queen.
Young musicians aged 18 or under, or amateur adult musicians.
Classes: piano, woodwind, string, guitar, brass, vocal and choral.
Also: solo, duet and ensemble classes and jazz.
No set pieces - pieces will be chosen by the entrant/teacher.
Children may enter more than one class provided they play/sing a different piece each time.
The categories of Classes will cover:
For children who might be entering the festival for the first time or children who prefer to perform and not compete. All children entering the non-competitive classes will receive a festival certificate. All children in non-competitive school choirs will receive a festival certificate.
Piano, instrumental and vocal classes in solo, duet or ensemble categories. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals and trophies will be awarded in the competitive classes at the discretion of the adjudicator.
A selection of participants (chosen by the adjudicator) will be invited to perform in the Gala Concert on 22nd March 2012 at the Inces Hall Theatre.
